MLA stresses bringing transparency in PDS

Dibrugarh, March 16: A meeting of the vigilance and inspection committee of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department at the legislative level was recently held at the Training Centre of the DC Office.

Presiding over the meeting, Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan called upon the officials and employees of the department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to work towards bringing transparency in the Public Distribution System (PDS).

MLA Prashanta Phukan further urged the officials of the said department, including the Wards Commissioners of Dibrugarh Municipal areas, to play an active role in resolving the allegations made against the process of allocation and distribution process of public distribution materials under PDS.

A decision for taking stringent steps for solving the anomalies in the process of kerosene oil distribution system was also taken in the meeting. The meeting was also attended amongst others  by SDM Mas  Das  and Deputy Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Girish Das.
