MLA visits flood-affected areas in Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, July 28: Maheshwar Baro, MLA of Kalaigaon LAC, visited flood-affected areas in Kalaigaon on Thursday.

MLA Baro visited the areas like Rupatal, Bhehguri, Shagunbahi, Balipara, Bahjani and  Kamarpara under Kalaigaon revenue circle. These areas have been flooded because the River Noa has overflowed due to heavy rainfall for the past few days.  Two houses in Rupatal were washed away by floods on Wednesday and thousands of bighas of standing crops were also inundated.

Baro told the media persons after visiting the affected areas that he had asked the authority concerned of every department to take necessary action immediately. He said that he would even raise the flood problem with the State Government. Meanwhile, a bamboo bridge on the road from Mekenzi to Rupatal could be washed away at any moment MLA Baro realized and assured that he would take initiative to convert it to RCC bridge soon.
