M’laya BJP says no to Hek induction

FROM A CORRESPONDENT

SHILLONG, Oct 1: The Meghalaya unit of the BJP on Saturday said that the party has not discussed the issue of inducting any legislators to the party from any other political parties of the state.

In a statement issued here, the state BJP denied to a news report that the party was ready to take back its former legislator AL Hek. “The party has not discussed anything on inducting any MLA into the party. If there is any decision to take anybody into the party, it will be made official by the BJP party of the state,” vice president Bashailang Khongwir said.

There were media speculations that the saffron party may induct Hek into it’s fold when the Congress legislator met Union Health minister JP dda during his visit to Shillong.  Hek was dropped from the Meghalaya cabinet recently. “The meeting between AL Hek with the union minister is his persol initiative and not as a member of the party,” Khongwir further added.
