M’laya teachers to take part in Dublin workshop

SHILLONG, Feb 2: Six teachers from the state under the Khasi-Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ Association (KJDSTA) training programme will be taking part in a 5 day workshop cum training programme in Dublin Ireland starting from February 6-10, 2017.

The teachers from Meghalaya have been invited to the workshop by three Unions from Ireland which includes the Irish tiol Teachers Organization (INTO), Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) and Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland (ASTI). Speaking to reporters here recently, D Nongsiang, Chairman, JACATAM informed that the main aim of the workshop is to exchange ideas between the teachers Union in Ireland and teachers from Meghalaya and on how to better improve the educatiol system and imparting of knowledge to the students in the state.

The six teachers selected by KJDSTA to participate in the workshop in Ireland include Fabian Richfield Syiem, Polycarpus Warlarpih, Joyceline Mary Kharumnuid, Raynold Basaiawmoit, Everard D Nongsiang and Jo Goswami. Nongsiang informed that the teachers from the state during the workshop will be visiting various schools in Dublin with a purpose to learn and observe on how the schools in Ireland operates and on how the teachers are imparting knowledge to their students.

All the expenditure for the six teachers from the state, participating in the workshop will be incurred by the three Teachers Unions from Ireland.
