MLCU department organizes pre-Christmas event for orphans

STAFF CORRESPONDENT
SHILLONG, Dec 15: The Department of Counseling Psychology, Martin Luther Christian University today spread a little Christmas joy among the children of God’s Dream Home, an orphage run by the Now Generation Outreach Revival Assembly, Full Gospel Fellowship Church. The day started by taking the children out to Golflinks followed by games and songs and gifts for the children of the home.  The orphage, which is situated in Lumshyiap houses a total of 26 children ranging from 10 months old to 18 years old, among them there are 17 boys while rest are girls. The students of MLCU from the Department of Counseling Psychology organized different games for the children, and also told Biblical stories to the children. Clothes, toys and other items were also collected from the students, faculty and staff across the University and presented to one of the supervisors of the Home. The Orphage Home was established this year in March in a rented building but there are plans for a more permanent setup in the near future.  Speaking to us the children of the home expressed their joy and happiness of having such a special day planned just for them and that they enjoyed the day thoroughly.
