Mobile science exhibition at Fakiragram railway station

Kokrajhar, April 10: A flagship programme of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the Science Express arrived on Sunday morning at Fakiragram in Kokrajhar. It is an innovative mobile science exhibition mounted on a 16-coach train travelling across India since 2007.

It showcases to school children different researches in science and technology being carried out worldwide, based on the theme of biodiversity. The Science Express Biodiversity Special highlights the rich biodiversity of India and its conservation measures while the Science Express Climate Action Special highlights the global challenge of climate change.

A large number of students from different educatiol institutions gathered to see the exhibition. The students accompanied by their teachers enjoyed the exhibition. Dr. Rabul Bora, in-charge of the Science Express said that the Science Express was flagged off on February 17, 2017 from Delhi Safdarjung Railway station by Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Railways, along with Dr. Harsh Vardan, Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth.
