Mock drill on earthquake at Diphu

HOWRAGHAT, Jan 8:  After the earthquake that rocked Imphal in Manipur and different parts of Assam and other northeastern States, the District Disaster Magement Authority, Karbi Anglong has taken up emergency and earthquake precautiory steps.

In this regard, the District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA) organized a disaster magement mock drill training cum demonstration here on Thussday at Superintendent of Police (SP) office premises in Diphu.

Trainings were imparted top police personnel by Kumud th and Bhaskar Deka, Civil Defence Instructor in the programme. Later, demonstrations were also shown that needed to take precautiory and preventing and relieving measures during the erupting of earthquake.

Scientific techniques were demonstrated by Bhaskar Das, Civil Defence Instructor in association with its civil defence volunteers and Diphu Fire station personnel for safety of people’s lives and property.

It may be mentioned here that altogether 26 numbers of such precautiory awareness cum mock drill training have been organized since last December 22 in different 26 government offices and establishments in Karbi Anglong.

Debojit Deory, Superintendent of Police, Partha Pratim Sharma, District Project officer, DDMA, Karbi Anglong and other senior officials were present during the mock drill training held at SP office premises in Diphu.
