Modern technology for farming should reach every farmer: Kharsing

HOWRAGHAT, July 24: State HAD Minister Kharsing Engti today said that modern technology for farming should be reached to every farmer for the overall production of crops.

“Modern technological method for farming should be reached to every farmer for the overall production of crops. Along with maximum production of rice, the other farming like horticulture and vegetative cultivation should be increased,” State HAD Minister Engti said attending as chief guest in the Kishan Mela  held at Langhin Tiniali of Diphu here today.

He further said that various schemes have been designed by the government to aware and give training farmers by the department of agriculture. Besides, agricultural mechanical tools, inputs and siblings have been provided to farmers in 50 per cent subsidy rate and some tools have given free of cost to boost their cultivation, Engti added.

Engti urged the farmers participated in the public meeting to support the Government in the proper implementation of development schemes.

On the other hand, attending as invited guest in the agricultural farmers fair open meeting, Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM), of KAAC, urged farmers to give importance and play proactive role in the field of agriculture farming. Ronghang appealed to all farmers to be self-reliance by cultivating crops.

Meanwhile, Ronghang assured to provide irrigation facility so that farmers can produce maximum crops. While speaking the reason on the delay and slow progress of some government schemes, Ronghang said that a militancy problem is badly hitting the development of Karbi Anglong.

Pointing out on the insufficient fund allocated to KAAC by the central government, Ronghang said that KAAC maged to get only 45 per cent fund under tiol Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) from central government.

55 percent fund under MGNREGA which KAAC received earlier has not been released yet by the central government, said the KAAC CEM.

Admiring the state HAD Minister, Kharsing Engti, KAAC CEM, Ronghang said that the SIU imposed over government jobs in Karbi Anglong has already been withdrawn by the state government and it was happened in reality  under the smooth initiative of Kharsing Engti, Ronghang added.

The open meeting was also addressed by Sarat Brahma local MAC and EM for Sericulture department, KAAC, Bidya Sing Rongpi, EM, KAAC and Mongal Sing Engti, EM for Agriculture Department.

Later, tractors, power tillers, power pump, agriculture mechanical tools and siblings were distributed farmers. Besides, tractors, power tillers and power pumps under RKVY were sold at 50 per cent subsidy rate to the farmers.
