Modi, Putin discuss trade, bilateral ties

 Xiamen, Sept 4: Prime Minister rendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a bilateral meeting here on Monday with trade and investment, tural gas, tourism and youth exchanges featuring in their discussions. The two leaders, who met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit here, “basically touched upon several aspects of the bilateral relationship”, Indian Exterl Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, briefing reporters here. “President Putin recalled the Prime Minister’s visit to Russia earlier this year,” he added. He said that Putin thanked Modi for India’s high-level participation at the Eastern Economic Forum, being held in Russia’s eastern port city of Vladivostok. Both leaders discussed several aspects of bilateral issues in sectors like cooperation in the tural gas and oil sector, Kumar added. Both sides also discussed how to promote bilateral trade and investment. (IANS)
