Modi wave will bring an end to Congress rule: Hagrama

KOKRAJHAR, April 8: Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary in an election rally in Kokrajhar said the Modi wave will bring an end to Congress rule in Assam and BJP-AGP-BPF combine will form the government at Dispur.

In a meeting held at Gossainichi in Serfanguri area today, Mohilary said the position of BPF in 29-Kokrajhar West was far better than other parties. He said the victory of their candidate Rabiram rzary is 100 pc. “There could be triangular contest in 29-Kokrajhar West. The main battle would be between the Rabiram rzary (BPF), UG Brahma (UPP) and Dwahit Chandra Brahma (AIUDF)” he said adding that the BPF has stronger support of Muslim, Rajbongshi, Bengali, Adivasi and others. He claimed that over 60 pc vote will come to BPF candidate alone.

On the remarks of congress president Anjan Dutta, Mohilary said Dutta’s comment against him was meaningless. He said Dutta became frustrated knowing that Congress will not win in any seat in BTC region. He said all 13 seats of BTC region will go to BPF candidates. “Congress will not get any seat. Dutta becomes nervous he has realized their defeat,” he said.

Mohilary said before the media persons that Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were not at par with Prime Minister Norendra Modi. He said Modi wave has come across India and Modi has taken lot of innovative steps to take the country forward which Congress could not do.

Replying to questions over some organizations that call to go against BJP and AGP, Mohilary said the All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU), ABSU or Assam intellectuals may ask people not to vote for BJP or AGP but the voters will never listen to their call.

ABSU Promod Boro attended an election campaign meeting at Bargaon today. Talking to newsmen, Boro said the people have desired good governce in the region and so they have decided the right candidates who will work for the people with true heart.

He said the region witnessed repeated violence, illegal weapons that have brought mistrust among the people.

Boro said these should be a new change. He said the student organization should work for the change in the region. “We must send right persons for good governce. In 13 seats of BTC area, BPF has no position to get even 25 pc but the UPP will get all seats” he said adding that everybody should cast their votes with conscience to decide to form the government.

On the other hand, actor Raj Babbor attended a meeting of UPP candidate UG Brahma at Choutara in Kokrajhar on the same day. He was accompanied by Minister Siddique Ahmed. Talking to reporters, Ahmed said the Congress will again come power in the state.
