Mohilary-led BTC administration autocratic: UPP

Bongaigaon, December 7:  United People’s Party (UPP), Chirang district committee, staged a two-hour long demonstration on Monday in front of the DC’s office, Chirang against alleged misappropriation of funds, corruption and irregular system of the BTC administration.

Maoti Brahma Hazowary, president of Chirang district UPP, said that the Hargrama Mohilary-led BTC administration was ‘autocratic’ which ruled BTC through the policy of terror. “There is no room for humanity, liberty, equality, fraternity and equal development in the Hagrama-led administration. Hence today in BTAD most of the common people are frightened and frustrated,” he said.

Hazowari said that UPP was a party which believed in the democratic ideals of the country. “The aim and objective of UPP is ensuring good governce, equal right and equal development of democratic citizens of India,” he said.

UPP has demanded ensuring democratic rights and justice to citizens, judicial enquiry into the alleged large-scale anomalies and corruption of by the chairman and members of TCLCC and VCDC in the execution of MGNREGA schemes through job card, sanctioning IAY schemes.

“We demand immediate judicial enquiry into the misappropriation of Central and State government funds by the BTC authority, stopping politicizing of government schemes, immediate release of compensation to the land owners for Champabati Irrigation Project, immediate regularization of service of contractual teachers, immediate solution of D voter issue and ensuring food security to BPL families through PDS. Otherwise, we will adopt the path of agitation,” Hazowari said.

In this regard they submitted a memorandum to Governor of Assam and to the Chief Minister through the Chirang Deputy Commissioner.
