Money looted through e-banking system

BOKAKHAT, AUGUST 27: An unidentified miscreant looted Rs 40,000 through e-banking from the SBI account (Kohora Branch) of Bhupen Das, a retired teacher of Geleki, Kaziranga. Some unknown miscreant pretending to be a bank official called up Das from the mobile phone 7544944036 and wanted his ATM number telling him that some anomalies were detected in his documents.

Das gave him the number thinking him to be a bank officer. After some time, the bank authority of Kohora SBI called him to the bank and informed him that his account had been looted through e-banking system.  The miscreant withdrew Rs 39,900/- in 10 installments, said the bank authority.
