Monikha takes 9 as Dhemaji score 5

GUWAHATI, March 31: Monikha Das, the pace bowler of NFRSA, wrote new record on her me. The bowler today took nine wickets in a limited over game giving away only two runs. Her team NFRSA also recorded huge 284 runs victory in the gameĀ  against Dhemaji.

The tourment was Javed Khan Memorial Women Inter District Cricket and the venue was DN Singha stadium, Goalpara. Dhemaji were chasing 290 runs to win in 30 overs were bowled out for paltry 5 runs and the entire innings lasted only 51 balls. It is the lowest total in this competition and could be the lowest one in the history of women cricket (The lowest score in a women limited over game is 22 which was scored by Netharland against West Indies in 2008). Monikha was on target from the very first ball of her spell and removed one by one opponent batswomen in quick succession. The bowlers picked up 9 wickets in her 5.3 overs spell giving away only two runs.

She also played a vital role with bat during NFRSA batting and remained not out 67 (48 balls 4X5). Rekha Rani Borah 53 (no, 45B, 4x5) and Archa Dutta (45, 45B, 4x4) too played two good knocks.
