'Month-long Yoga and free medical treatment at Barak'

Silchar, May 22: A month-long yoga training session and free medical check-up has started from May 21 under the aegis of Patanjali Yog Samiti which is affiliated to Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust), at Haridwar. This has been organized by the Ministry of AYUSH and necessary arrangements have been made by the ministry. This was stated in a press-note issued by Sukumar Chandra th, president of Patanjali Yog Samiti, Padmagar, Silchar. The free health check-ups will be held at Gopal Akhra, Maniarkhal Yoga Shakti Club auditorium, Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Dolu and at the premises of Kalibari, Kalain. People have been requested to take an active part in the training session and in the Intertiol Yoga Day or Yoga Day, which falls on June 21. Yoga Day is celebrated every year on this date and it has also been declared to be intertiolly recognized by the United tions General Assembly on December 11, 2014. The day, June 21, has a special significance as it is the longest day of the whole year in the Northern Hemisphere. Awareness about yoga and meditation along with their benefits are taught to the participants so that they adopt it and inculcate the habit of practicing yoga daily. The day was given intertiol recognition after Prime Minister rendra Modi spoke on the issue while addressing to United tions General Assembly on September, 21, 2014.
