TINSUKIA, April 8: Demanding Scheduled Tribe status to the Moran community, the All Assam Moran Students’ Union (AAMSU) on Tuesday took out a protest rally here. Participating the rally, AAMSU president Arunjyoti Moran slammed the Central Government for not granting ST status to Moran community. He also demanded for creation of an autonomous council for the Moran community. Another leader of the organization said that the members of the Moran community have been suffering due to the continuous neglect of both the State and Central Governments with regard to the fulfillment of their demand.
