Morigaon administration directs departments to communicate with BSNL

Morigaon, March 18: The District Administration has directed all line Departments to communicate with the BSNL authority at the time of digging of roads to avoid damage of underground cable of BSNL so that uninterrupted telecom services can be provided during the time of Assembly Election in Morigaon.  

This directive has been issued in view of the frequent disruption and non- functioning of BSNL landline telephone, Broadband line, and lease circuit etc. due to the damage of underground cables while digging of roads by the PWD Department, Town Committee, laying water supply pipes by the Public Health Department and installation of electric poles by ASEB at a number of places in Morigaon town and its adjoining areas without any consultation with the BSNL authority. As a result of this the telecom customers face a lot of difficulties.

It may be noted that the matter was brought to the notice of the District Administration by the Sub-Divisiol Engineer (Gx), BSNL, Morigaon through a letter.

The District Administration communicated to the Heads of the line Departments, mely the Executive Officer of Morigaon Municipal Board; the Executive Engineers of PHE Division, PWD (State Road Division and Rural Road Division), ASEB, APDCL and Irrigation Division of the District.
