Morigaon District Milk Union miffed with Veteriry Department

From a Correspondent
MORIGAON, February 1: Morigaon District Milk Union has expressed displeasure with the District Veteriry Department for alleged irregular supply of semen for cow breeding. The organization has alleged that they do not get semen on time for artificial breeding of cows. They said that they have to collect the semen for cow breeding from private firms when they do not get it from the department, which becomes expensive for poor dairy farmers. Despite repeated appeals to the department officials, the supply of semen for cow breeding has still been irregular, alleged the union. Morigaon district is known for milk production, especially Amlighat, Matiparbat, Bhuragaon and Boha which are large milk supplying areas of the district. Milk is supplied from these areas to other parts of the State. So the union has appealed to the department to provide proper facilities to them.
