Morigaon youths meet CM, submit 10-point memo on district problems

MORIGAON, Jan 31: Three youths Jayanta Pator, Rantu Rabi Das and Jadab Das were felicitated by people on Tuesday as they reached Manipur village, about two km away from Morigaon town.

The three are students of Ghakanta Barua College, Morigaon and they had gone to meet the Chief Minister of Assam with a 10-point charter of demands on various burning problems of the district by walking without wearing shoes on January 28.

According to information, when they reached the Assam Secretariat, the security personnel prevented them from entering the Secretariat that day due to the ongoing budget session. Then they went to the Dispur police station where the OC arranged dinner for them and they took shelter for the night. They even tried to contact the MLAs of Morigaon, Jagiroad and Laharghat but failed.

The next day they were able meet the Chief Minister through the MLA of Bokajan constituency and submitted the memo with a 10-point charter of demands on various burning problems like poor road communication, erosion problem and unemployment.
