Mother Language Day observed across State

Dibrugarh, Feb 22: Intertiol Mother Language Day was also celebrated in Dibrugarh by several educatiol institutions and organization with great enthusiasm.  Department of Assamese & Language Study Center of Dibrugarh University (DU) in collaboration with Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Student Union (DUPGSU) observed the day at Department of Assamese of DU on Wednesday.

Iugurating the function organized on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University Prof Alak Kumar Buragohain, in his deliberation emphasized the importance of mother language  in daily life which he felt would help an individual in communication, expression of one’s emotion and exchange of feeling and information in ease.

Golaghat: The Intertiol Mother Language Day was observed at the College of Teachers’ Education Centre, Golaghat on Wednesday. In view to promote the preservation and protection of all languages used by people of the world, the professors and teachers’ trainees observed the programme. The programme was conducted by the Prab Hazarika, fourth semester teachers’ trainee of the college, where Professor Madhurjya Madhab Neog spoke about aims and value of  Intertiol Language Day.

DHEKIAJULI: Dhekiajuli Shankar Dev Shishu Niketan  on Wednesday observed the Intertiol Mother Tongue Day  at Dhekiajuli. To observe the day, a long procession was taken out at Dhekiajuli town by the students, guardians  and acharyas  of Dhekiajuli Shankar Dev Shishu Niketan on Wednesday. Participating as a chief guest, Dr Hari Prasad Baruah, lecturer of LOKD College, Dhekiajuli explained the significance of Intertiol Mother Tongue Day. “To preserve our mother tongue, we should  work with sincerity,” he said. Girindra Chandra Sharma, the chief acharya of Dhekiajuli  Shankar Dev Shishu Niketan, spoke on the occasion.
