mrup High School grapples with problems

From a Correspondent

mrup, Feb 26:mrup High School, set up in 1961 and provincialized in 1980, is one of the oldest co-educatiol institutions here. It is now in the grip of myriad problems.

Owing to lack of fund for maintence, the condition of the school building is pitiable. The condition of the classrooms is also pathetic. There is no separate uril for girls. The fund provided under RMSA cannot be utilized in maintence and construction work which is a matter of concern.

The lack of adequate drinking water facility is a serious problem faced by the school. There is one tube-well for 400 students and in the winter season, the low-level ground water creates severe water crisis. As per sources, owing to the lack of boundary wall and non-appointment of night chowkidar, computers and other items have already been looted.

Besides, the non-availability of government supplied free textbooks after the completion of two months of the new academic session has further disrupted the learning and teaching process. Hence, the local populace has urged the government to take proper steps to improve the infrastructure of the oldest educatiol institution of mrup.
