Music competition concludes

SILCHAR, Feb 9: Debdan Entertainments Private Limited, based at Kolkata, organized a sangeet competition for senior and junior groups in the presence of Rathijit Bhattacharjee, music director of Zee Bangla. 36 competitors took part in the mega fil of the musical competition. Mayuri Das of Karimganj won in the fil in the senior group while Mandira Bhattacharjee of Panchgram distinguished herself as a winner in the junior group.

 Geeta Chanda of Silchar and Tapas Deb of Karimganj were the runners up in senior group. In the junior group, Anurag Choudhury of Udharbond and Debpragnya Bhattacharjee also of Udharbond were the runners up. Rathijit Bhattacharjee who announced the results said the winners would be given chance in Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa audition. Debdan, he further said, is trying to find out talents both in this valley and Tripura.

 Rathijit Bhattacharjee also held the view that the future plan of Debdan is to explore the possibility of setting up a studio in south Assam. The chief-guest of the mega musical show Katyayani Adhikari enthralled the audience with her dance to the accompaniment of sweet and sonorous background music. Mention has to be made of Biswapratim g, executive of Debdan, Rantu Malakar, Shilpi Chakraborty and others took active part to make the mega event a success held in Rajiv Bhawan on Sunday.
