Muslim Students' Federation forms Assam unit

MANGALDAI, April 11: One more students’ organization to unite all the Muslim students of the State in a common platform has been formed. This time the Assam State unit of Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF), with its headquarters in Cheni, was formed recently in a meeting held at Kharupetia.

 In the meeting attended by a number of students from various parts of the State belonging to the religious minority community, the Assam State Committee of MSF was formed with Tousif Hussain of Guwahati as the president, Tarik Akhtar Ansary of Tezpur and biul Islam and Shahid Iqbal of Darrang and Shaizur Rahman of Barpeta as vice-presidents, and Jakir Akhtar Parvez of Darrang as general secretary.   According to the MSF, the students’ organization has instituted a scholarship programme in the me of founder general secretary of MSF, E Ahmed Sahib, especially for the courses of LLB, LLM, BBA, MBA, BSW and MSW in different universities of the country. They would also stand for solving the issue of NRC in Assam and would offer all legal aid to the needy persons. The MSF has also expressed deep concern on the failure of the government to save the people from the erosion of Brahmaputra river.
