Myanmar, Thailand teams to join car rally

ITANAGAR, July 5: A total of 38 delegates from Myanmar and Thailand with 12 cars are expected to arrive at Tawang on September 10 to join the Indian team for the car rally scheduled to be flagged off from Tawang on September 12 . International Friendship Car Rally Association (IFCRA) president Pem Sonam informed that the Thai team will be led by Rachan Trairat (in-charge of Thailand Tata Motors sports). The Myanmar team will be led by Hla Maung, president of Border Trade Chambers of Commerce.

Pem Sonam said that a meeting with Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India Rahul Bhatnagar has consented to be present for flag off ceremony of the rally at Tawang. He informed that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in India is also willing to promote tourism between India and Thailand.
