Naamghars looted in Sivasagar

Joysagar: Frequent incidents of burglary have created panic among the people of Sivasagar. A gang of burglars looted as many as three naamghars in Sivasagar. As per information, the Sivasagar Habiram Bora Road Naamghar was looted by burglars on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Shantipur Nakatani Naamghar of Konwarpur village was looted on Saturday night.

Following this, the Dikhowmukh Srimanta Shankardeva Naamghar was also targeted by the notorious gang and the village head informed that valuables of the naamghar, including idols, were looted by the gang.

The naamghar management committees have lodged separate FIRs in the local police stations. Meanwhile, the Sivasagar Sadar Police apprehended four persons from the Darikapara area and NH-37 area of the town on Saturday night. Police are interrogating them about the recent incidents of burglary.
