Economic Census training

KOHIMA: A State-level training programme for the 7th Economic Census is being organized by CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology to develop trainers who will impart training for the enumerators and 1st level supervisors on May 27 in Kohima from 9:30 am onwards. The objective of this training is to equip the participants with a detailed understanding on the implementation and practices for the 7th Economic Census to be conducted in the State along with the rest of the country and to keep all the project stakeholders informed and involved. The Field Operations Division (FOD) of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) will be the resource persons in this programme, stated a DIPR release.

Training programme

KOHIMA, May 24: Training on community mobilization under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan District Mission Authority, Zunheboto, was held at Pughoboto ERBC hall on Friday. MIS co-ordinator DMAZ Elotoli spoke on the role of school development management information system. Role of the SMC was emphasised by Kinokali and AEO Pughoboto. The keynote was addressed by Uketo Yepthomi. The programme was attended by village council chairman, VEC/SMC chairman and secretary, representatives from women Anganwadi and student bodies. The programme was chaired by coordinate EBRC, Pughoboto, stated a DIPR release.

Kohima Sanuoru Cleanup

KOHIMA, May 24: As part of the 'Himalayan Cleanup', the Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) will be organizing the 'Kohima Sanuoru Cleanup' campaign with the theme "Our Mountains Deserve Better" on May 25 at Sanuoru, Kohima. The programme will be led by president of KVYO, Dzuvinguzo Mepfhuo while administrator of KMC and CEO of Kohima Smart City, Kovi Meyase and chairman of Kohima Village Council Dr Neiphi Kire will grace the occasion. The Himalayan Cleanup Campaign (THC) is an annual event conducted on May 26 across the Himalayan States. It was initiated in 2018 in conjunction to 'beat the plastic pollution' theme of World Environment Day. THC is the beginning of continued engagement to get involved in the Integrated Mountain Initiative and Zero Waste Himalaya Movement, which is working towards strengthening sustainable lifestyles. THC 2020 has received support from European outdoor Conservation Association and WWF- India for peer education, stated a DIPR release.

Contraband destroyed

KOHIMA, May 24: Seized drugs, narcotics and psychotropic/control substances and liquor seized under the NLTP Act in Phek were destroyed on Friday. The destroyed items included hundreds of IMFL bottles and 450 kgs of ganja among others. Cheliam Khiamniungan, Judicial Magistrate, Phek Vithwel EAC, DBs DC office, Phek, Government Pleader/APP Phek, Samuel, the OC of Police Station Phek and PI staff were present during he operation, stated a DIPR release.
