Saplings planted at Kohima Medical College

KOHIMA: The Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) organized a tree plantation drive at the Medical College Phriebagei here recently. Led by H&FW Director Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, officers and staff planted 500 different varieties of saplings provided by the Department of Forest in and around the Medical college campus. The main concept of the plantation drive was to beautify the campus and also to protect the environment, stated a release.

Deposited arms & license

KOHIMA: DC Peren Sarita Yadav has informed all arms and license holders under Peren district to intimate the office where their arms and Licenses were deposited before the conduct of General Election to the Lok Sabha 2019, stated a release.

Charity work carried out

KOHIMA: The Niropen Colony Youth Organisation, Wokha Town organized a musical programme and other activities on various occasions to raise funds for carrying out charity work. The fund raised out of the various programmes was handed over to Lotha Eloe Hoho to carry out the humanitarian service. To support the noble initiative of the Niropen youths, the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) volunteered to carry out the charity work and visited Mhondamo Memorial District Hospital, District Jail and three orphanage homes under Wokha town and handed over rice, meat, fast-food items and vegetables for the inmates and patients. During their visit at the District Jail, Wokha, the team led by LEH president, Zuchobeni Ezung conducted a prayer service with the prison inmates. They also visited the 'One Stop Centre' located at Tsumang colony Wokha, stated a release.

Kiphire DPDB meet scheduled

KOHIMA: The monthly Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting will be held on June 12 at the USBLA Retreat Centre, Arehintre Thuyo near Longmatra, stated a release. Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman Kiphire DPDB, M Shayung Phom has informed all the DPDB members to attend the meeting positively. A separate meeting with all the Head of Offices has also been convened on the same day.

NWVA meet on June 11

KOHIMA: The general secretary, NWVA, Kakheli Jakhalu has informed all members of the Nagaland Women Voluntary Association that a meeting will be held on June 11. The meeting will commence from 11 am at the State Banquet Hall, stated a release.

Pulie Badze declared 'Plastic-free Zone'

KOHIMA: With an aim to protect one of the most important watershed areas of Kohima district, Pulie Badze was declared a 'Plastic-Free Zone' with the initiative from the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Kohima Forest Division in collaboration with the Jotsoma Nature Conservation and Ecotourism Committee and village functionaries of Jotsoma village recently. The programme was held at the Pulie Badze Peak, stated a release.
