Governor flags off rally

KOHIMA: Nagaland Governor PB Acharya flagged of Oneninenla Imsong on her ride across Nagaland to advocate on the issues of women empowerment, at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Onen stated that her passion for riding the motorcycle was taking her to all the districts of the State to reach out to the women folk to hear their untold stories and to encourage them to stand on their feet. She also hopes to share her stories as well. Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Dinesh Kumar, stated that the rally by Onen will capture the imagination of the people of the State, empowering women in demonstrating the essential oneness of our integrated region, stated a DIPR release.

Yoga Day

KOHIMA: The Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, will be organizing a programme on International Day of Yoga on June 21 from 7 am at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, stated a DIPR release.

Shalaa Siddhi workshop

KOHIMA: A day-long district level capacity building workshop on 'Shalaa Siddhi' was held at EBRC Hall, Peren town, on Wednesday. Assistant Director, Director of School Education, Nellayapan was the resource person of the workshop where he highlighted on 'School Evaluation Dashboard' to head teachers of various schools. Senior SDEO of Peren and CDPO Tening appealed to the teachers to fulfil the instructions addressed to them during the workshop. 117 schools inclusive of GMS and GPS head teachers in-charge of various schools under Peren district attended the workshop. The programme was chaired by ADC DMA Peren, Joseph Vikietuo, stated a DIPR release.

Farm machineries

KOHIMA: District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Mokokchung held a programme on training-cum-distribution of farm machineries and implements to farmers on Wednesday. Mokokchung ADC W Manpai Phom was the special guest in the programme. He appreciated the plans and policies of the department for the farmers. The programme was chaired by Maongsangla SMS, stated a DIPR release.

Job fair at Zunheboto

KOHIMA: A day-long job fair was organized at Zunheboto Town Hall on Tuesday by the Emporium Skill Training Institute in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland. The training fees for the selected candidates will be sponsored by the Government of Nagaland under the flagship scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). The programme was chaired by EAC Zunheboto, Litsen Kikon and welcome address was delivered by EAC Zunheboto, Machietsho Koza, stated a DIPR release.

Silver jubilee meet

KOHIMA: Commemorating its silver jubilee, the Dimapur Shaki Fellowship and Dimapur Shaki Union organized a programme at Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar on Wednesday. On the occasion, Director, Urban Development Department, A Zanbemo Ngullie released the silver jubilee souvenir. Also speaking on the day, Additional Director, Rural Development, C Thungjamo Odyuo described Shaki village as one of the most picturesque villages bestowed with God's manifold blessings. Pastor K Libenthung Lotha invoked God's blessings by praying for the Shaki people residing at Dimapur. A minute silence was observed as mark of respect to the Dimapur Shaki residents who have departed from this world, stated a DIPR release.
