Governor PB Acharya to take of charge of Manipur

KOHIMA: Nagaland Governor PB Acharya will be assuming additional charge as the Governor of Manipur in the absence of Dr Najma Heptullah, who is on leave. President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Governor Acharya to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur from the date he assumes charge of his office. Governor Acharya will take oath of Office June 27 at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, stated a DIPR release.

Tobacco-free institutes

KOHIMA: The quarterly meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) on Tobacco Control was held at the DC's Conference Hall in Kohima on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Kohima ADC Lithrongla Tongpi. Social worker Achila Walling gave a brief report on the activities of DTCC Kohima in the last few months. Dr Hotokhu Chishi, Additional Director HFW, Kohima State Nodal Officer (NTCP) declared the following six institutions as Tobacco Free Institutes in Kohima: Government High School, Jakhama, Government Middle School, Jakhama, Government High School, Kigwema, The Vineyard School, Kohima, KRIPA Foundation Head Office, Kohima, Japfu Christian College and Integrated Rehabilitation Centre of Addiction (IRCA) KRIPA Foundation, Kohima, stated a DIPR release.

Startup Policy, 2019

KOHIMA: The Department of Industries & Commerce in a notification informed that in consonance with the Startup India Scheme, the government has notified the Nagaland Startup Policy, 2019, with an aim to create a conducive atmosphere for local entrepreneurs and to provide opportunities to establish an entrepreneurial culture so as to bring out more job opportunities for the youth. The policy shall be effective for a period of 5 years from the date of its notification or until notified, whichever is earlier, stated a DIPR release.

CMO office inaugurated

KOHIMA: The newly-constructed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, Mokokchung, which is said to be the biggest CMO office in the State, was inaugurated in the presence of the Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, Dr Vikeyie Losu on Wednesday. In his speech, the Principal Director (PD) said Mokokchung has a good team of doctors and medical staff. Therefore, every staff member must give their best and support one another so that people in the district would be benefited through the good work rendered by the department, stated a DIPR release.
