NAGAON: Nobody of this district and State, who has self-respect, wants people like minister Rajen Gohain to get the party ticket for the upcoming parliamentary election,” said Pradip Kalita, State president of Krishak Shramik Unnayan Parishad, on Wednesday at a press conference held at Nagaon Nehru Yuva Kendra.

Pradeep Kalita said that Rajen Gohain was embroiled in one controversy after another and the molestation case against him was under trial in Nagaon Chief Judicial Court. Referring to a recent remark of the minister in a press conference held at Jagibhakatgaon in Morigaon that only the media did not want him as a candidate for the ensuing parliamentary election, Kalita said that not just the media, in fact no one in the district as well as the entire State wanted him as a candidate for the upcoming election.

Demanding immediate arrest of the minister in connection with a molestation case registered against him in Nagaon police station, Kalita said that they would soon launch an agitation programme against Rajen Gohain. He said that the minister had to prove his innocence before aspiring for a party ticket.
