Napkin-Dispensing Machine In Banikanta Memorial Higher Secondary School At Rehabari

GUWAHATI: Banikanta Memorial Higher Secondary School at Rehabari here installed a sanitary napkin dispensing machine in the school recently.

Leo Club of Gauhati Girls that supported installation of the machine on the school premises has taken up the responsibility to refill the machine with sanitary napkin on a monthly basis. The school has an enrollment of 210 girls. Unavailability of sanitary pads, inadequate sanitation and absence of separate toilets for girls in schools are some of the reasons that lead to poor attendance of girls in schools. This is also one of the major reasons for more dropout rate among girls.
