National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Banned Baby Shampoo Brand

GUWAHATI: Are all that you use to bath your tender baby good for its tactile body? The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked Assam and four other States to ban the use of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo with immediate effect.

According to an NCPCR official, the Commission received a report from the Rajasthan Government on the content of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo Baby Shampoo. The drug testing laboratory of Rajasthan government at Jaipur analysed samples of the baby shampoo and found that its quality is below par, and also detected the presence of formaldehyde and some other harmful substances in it.

Following this finding of the laboratory test, the NCPCR has asked the chief secretaries of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand to ban the use of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo with immediate effect. The child rights body has also asked the chief secretaries of all these five States to remove all stocks of the shampoo, if there is any.
