ITANAGAR: The National People’s Party (NPP) State president, Gicho Kabak, on Sunday submitted a representation to the CEO and demanded immediate re-polling of the five polling stations -- Parsi-Parlo, Taba, Nampe, Damin and Nyokuriang -- under 21- Koloriang Assembly Constituency of Kurung Kummy district on April 11. In the representation, the NPP also sought deployment of sufficient police force for free-and- fair conduct of re-polling. This was informed to media by the vice-president of NPP, Nima Sangey on Sunday alleged that the supporters of NPP candidate Pani Taram from the 21-Koloriang AC, were not allowed to reach the polling stations for casting their votes. As a result, they (NPP supporters) could not exercise their franchise.

“In this connection there was a protest rally by the NPP workers at Koloriang recently and apprised the District Election Officer (DEO), Kurung Kummy, and the matter has also been reported to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Arunachal Pradesh, for re-polling,” Sangey said, adding that till date no action has been taken by the Election Commission on the matter.
