National People's Party resolves to strengthen party in NorthEast led by national president Conrad K Sangma

ITANAGAR: Chief Minister of Meghalaya-cum-national president of National People's Party (NPP), Conrad K Sangma presided over a coordination meeting held at Hotel Novotel in Guwahati on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Arunachal Pradesh NPP State president

Gicho Kabak, Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur Joy Kumar Singh, Home Minister of Meghalaya James Sangma, NPP MLA contested candidates and party NPP leaders. In the meeting, Gicho Kabak highlighted the total numbers of winning the position of MLA candidates and suggested for the selection of the legislature party leader after election result with due consultation with the elected MLAs and the national president.

All the MLA candidates from Arunachal Pradesh contesting on NPP tickets also highlighted the difficulties they faced during the election campaign in their respective Assembly constituencies and suggested for the strengthening of party organization in the State.

Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur Joykumar Singh, who is also the national vice-president of NPP, advised the party candidates contesting in the Assembly polls not to leave the party after the election result and work to strengthen the party organization in the State, and assured his full support for party organization in Manipur.

Meanwhile, Conrad K Sangma appreciated the contested MLA candidates for strongly fighting in the elections and hoped for a landmark victory of the party. He directed Gicho Kabak to re-organize district, state office-bearer and frontal heads of State NPP immediately.

Sangma also assured his full support and cooperation for strengthening the party organization in Arunachal Pradesh.

The NPP has one LS candidate in Arunachal Western Parliamentary Constituency and 30 MLA candidates in the Parliament and Assembly Election-2019 in Arunachal Pradesh. NPP and BJP have coalition governments in the north-eastern region under the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
