National School of Drama (NSD) to organize 11th edition of Poorvottar Natya Samaroh

GOLAGHAT: The National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi will hold the Poorvattar Natya Samaroh in collaboration with Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society from January 12 to January 20.

In a press release, NSD Production Manager said that NSD has started organizing Poorvottar Natya Samaroh (North East Theatre Festival) in different parts of the north­-eastern region since 2008. Every year, the festival goes to a different city. So far, NSD has organized the Poorvottar Natya Samaroh in Guwahati, Gangtok, Agartala, Tezpur, Jorhat, Diburugarh, Sibasagar and Dimapur.

The Natya Samaroh in its all editions showcased works of eminent and young theatre directors from across the country. The 11th edition of Poorvottar Natya Samaroh will conclude on January 20 in collaboration with the Art and Culture Department, Govenment of Nagaland, at Dimapur (Nagaland) and Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society, Golaghat (Assam). Eight theatre groups in each venue are participating in this festival from the north-eastern States.
