National Science Day observed in Jorhat

JORHAT: Along with the rest of the country, in Jorhat district too National Science Day was celebrated with the theme ‘Science for People, People for Science’. Around 300 students from five schools took part in a colourful rally which was followed by a science exhibition where models were displayed with various themes. A discussion was held with a space documentary show which really thrilled the students and teachers. It was organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Assam, said Dr. Pranab Jyoti Chetia, the curator of Jorhat Science Centre and Planetarium on Thursday. National Science Day is celebrated every year to widely spread the message about the importance of science in the daily life and to attract the young minds towards science.
