Dibrugarh: National Youth Day, which marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, was observed here on Saturday.

On the occasion, the organizations closely connected with the great saint and social reformer of the second half of the 19th century, were seen observing the day with befitting reverence and spirit. Apart from the institutions, many youths of the town were also seen sharing greetings on social media on the occasion. They recalled the ideals of Vivekananda and highlighted the relevance of those in the present context.

A past pupil of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, Nilotpal Gogoi, said, “The teachings of Swamiji can never go out of relevance. Such a great inspiration he was for the youth. His speech at the World Parliament of Religions, Chicago, will always be treasured not just by Indians, but the entire globe.”
