NBT gearing up for Itagar fair

ITAGAR, March 28: The tiol Book Trust (NBT) of India in association with district administration is organising a book fair in the state capital from March 28 till AprilĀ  5 next.

The fair which promises a treat for book lovers and readers would be open to all from 11am till 7 pm at Indira Gandhi Park.

Apart from publishing quality books in reasoble prices, NBT in its attempt to encourage specially the children and youths to take the habit of reading, is organising book fairs all over the country.

Around 30 publishers from Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and other cities will exhibit their books and interestingly there is a 10percent discount for all the buyers.

"In order to increase their reading habit, we are mainly targeting the kids and teegers as we will try to conduct some literary competitions for them. We will make the teegers understand that books can be their best friend, if they adopt reading habits" said NBT Assistant Director Rajeev Chaudhry here today. "NBT came to the state in the year 2011last and we got a very good response and this time we are expecting a good number of people to join us," he added.

The nine day-long fair promises to have a good number of books in the stock like academic, biography, science fiction, research, competitive examitions, novels and the renowned publishers Raj Kamal Prakashan from Delhi will also make their presence felt to lure the book lovers of the state.

Deputy Commissioner, Mige Kamki will iugurate the fair on March 28 next.
