NCC cadets urged to take up socially useful activities

Dibrugarh, July 5: The Commanding Officer (CO) of 10 Assam NCC Battalion, Colonel AS Ghumman formally iugurated the 10-day combined Annual Training Camp being held at Dibrugarh University (DU) on Wednesday. In his address to the cadets, Commanding Officer Colonel Ghumman, welcomed them to this important aspect of NCC training wherein the cadets learn to do things by themselves and are exposed to time magement, discipline and provided an opportunity to undertake adventure activities to hone their leadership qualities. This camp will encourage the cadets to enrich their knowledge, develop communication skills and build character, he said.

While speaking to the cadets, Colonel Ghumman asked them to have an aim in life and using the discipline and skills that they learn during their stint in NCC, try their best to achieve those aims and become useful citizens of the country. He also asked them to take up socially useful activities in their schools/ colleges, their villages and localities and motivate others on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, shun open defecation, take up tree plantation drive, anti-tobacco and anti-drug issues so that the people around also get motivated.

Officiating Group Commander of Dibrugarh Group, Colonel Koj Tari also visited the camp and had an interaction with the cadets and officials.
