NCHAC budget session gets underway

Haflong, Feb 9: The budget session of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council parliament continued for the second day on Tuesday. The session began with the detail submission of account by the Chief Executive Member Niranjan Hojai.

The first question placed in the house was regarding the recent hike of dearness allowance of the employees under normal sector of NCHAC which was made at par with the employees of the state 119% recently. This was followed with discussions on budget of the transfer subjects i.e entrusted departments of the council. The house decided the issues to be further taken up in the next session which will be held on 11 February next at 10 A.M.

NCHAC chairman Ngamrothang Hmar also directed the newly formed committee termed as parliamentary committee on appointment to submit its fact findings in its next session.

It may be noted that in the previous parliamentary session held on February 5 last, a decision was passed to constitute a parliamentary committee on appointment with chairman as Mihir Gorlosa, member of Autonomous Council with three more members to attend any public grievances and complaints in connection with the appointment process held in various departments recently.
