NCHAC session begins

Haflong, Feb 6: The session of N C Hills Autonomous Council began here on Friday. Though decided to move no trust motion against the present BJP led N C Hills Autonomous Council by the Congress members, they could not move the motion as the Governor of Assam directed the Chairman of NCHAC to fix February 11 for it. Governor’s directive came following a request by the Chief Executive Member Niranjan Hojai. Ngamrothang Hmar, Chairman of NCHAC disclosed this in the house on Friday.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Ngamrothang Hmar, Chairman, and NCHAC wherein all the 15 BJP members including CEM were present and from Congress 14 members were present.

Mahendra Kemprai, MAC skipped the session.

CEM Hojai moved vote on account but could not be passed as the members from opposition demanded details of the vote on account. Debojeet Thaosen, MAC, Mihir Gorlosa, MAC, Hima Keivom suggested to form a parliamentary committee to enquire into alleged irregularities in the recent appoint process.

Hmar, however, constitute a parliamentary committee to enquire into the alleged irregularities in process of appoints in various department with Mihir Gorlosa as the Chairman, Ramesh Thaosen, PS (T) as the member secretary and with two other members.

When asked regarding the no confidence motion against him, Niranjan Hojai, CEM, NCHAC talking to the media said nothing could be said at this moment.

“It could be seen only when the motion would be brought. I have comfortable majority,” he said.
