NCHISF calls for indefinite rail blockade

A Correspondent

Haflong, April 18: In demand of immediate payment of necessary compensation to Railway-affected families, the NC Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum (NCHISF) has called indefinite rail blockade from April 19, said the president of NCHISF, David Keivom at a press meet held in the office premises on Tuesday.

Keivom said that even after more than 15 joint meetings, the NF Railway authority continued to ignore the genuine demands of railway-affected families. This was a clear indication that the Railway authority had no intention to solve the problems. He added, “We understand the inconvenience of passengers caused due to rail blockade but our problems are also genuine, and it is not due to our fault but for the fault of the NF Railway  as the authority has been neglecting the people of Dima Hasao in many ways.”
