NCHISF calls on DRM Lumding

Haflong, April 10: To discuss various long-pending demands like compensation, Hills Queen and reserved coach for hill passengers in Guwahati-Silchar fast passenger trains, the NC Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum (NCHISF) called on Pramod Jain, DRM Lumding, at his office chamber on Monday, disclosed NCHISF president David Keivm. He said that the NCHISF informed the DRM that if the Railways failed to pay all necessary compensation within April 18, NCHISF would stage rail roko from April 19. He said the DRM informed them that the Hills Queen service would be resumed within April and the date would be confirmed soon. The NCHISF also requested the DRM for stoppage of Hills Queen in all the stations within their district for the convenience of the hill people, which he assured he would look into. Regarding reservation of one coach in the Guwahati-Silchar fast passenger train, the DRM said that he had already sent the proposal to the headquarters for approval.
