NDFB (anti-talk) decries killing of two cadres in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, February 15: The tiol Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-anti talk faction) on Monday claimed that Sanjib Basumatary alias Kharde who was killed by the joint team of army and police on Sunday morning at Auzarguri under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar district, was not their cadre but a student. The outfit also alleged that a hand of Kharde was cut off brutally by the army.

A joint team of army and police killed Sanjib Basumatary alias Kharde of Padmabil village and Jwngswrang Basumatary alias Ladai of village Auzarguri on Sunday morning in a search operation at Auzarguri. There was also an encounter between the joint security team and NDFB (S) before they were elimited. The security forces recovered two 7.65mm pistols, magazine, two gredes, ammunition, mobile handsets etc from their possession.

In a press statement issued on Monday by the general secretary of (NDFB) anti-talk faction, BR Ferengga said that Sanjib Basumatary alias Kharde was not a hardcore cadre of their organization. He said Kharde was a victim of concocted reports that claimed recovery of some sophisticated arms, gredes and some ammunition from his possession. Ferengga also alleged that Sanjib alias Kharde was brutally killed.  In the past, Lance Corporal B. Khilikhang, a hardcore cadre of the 35th batch of the NDFB, was allegedly killed in the me of fake encounter by the Indian Army.  Ferengga said the NDFB condemned the chauvinist government’s speeches and attritiol policies and denounced these as total violation of human rights by the Indian Government.
