NDFB (S) rebel, linkman held in Chirang

CHIRANG, January 29: Army & Assam Police in a joint operation on Thursday apprehended an NDFB (S) rebel and a linkman along with arms and ammunition from Chirang district.  

The apprehended cadre has been identified as Gangaraj Wary alias Dableu Gold, a Myanmar trained cadre from 40th Batch of NDFB(S) who was wanted in killing of two Adivasis and burning down of 60 houses on December 24 in 2014 at Koirabari.  The apprehended linkman has been identified as Kalicharan Brahma, both belonging to Chirang district.   Spot interrogation and search led to recovery of one 7.62 mm pistol with two rounds of ammunition, one .305 Rifle with 25 rounds of ammunition, 14 rounds of .315 rifle, one Chinese hand grede and other war like stores, an Army official said in a statement.

It may be mentioned that since the launch of ‘Operation All Out’ in January 2015 the militants operating in the area have more or less been dedicated and the remnts are in a total state of disarray, knowing fully well that there days are numbered, due to the relentless pressure exerted on them by the security forces, added the official.
