NDFB-S rebels held in Chirang

CHIRANG, Jan 7: The SSB and police in a joint operation today apprehended a NDFB (Songbijit) militant from Rangjihoura village in Chirang district.

The rebel has been identified as Nirmal Basumatary (27) of Bitni village near Amtenga area of the district, stated SSB in a press release. A 9 mm pistol, three rounds of ammunition and a mobile phone were found on him.

“He is a trained militant of the outfit and was trained in Myanmar from,” SSB sources said.
