NDFB(S) rebel bbed in Chirang

Bongaigaon, June 4: In a joint operation, Chirang district police and 7th Sikh Li Army camp of Runikhata of Indian Army bbed one NDFB(S) rebel on Friday. Sankar Brata Rai Medhi, SP, Chirang said that the operation was launched in Dolopara area under Runikhata PS of Chirang district. “The bbed cadre had been identified as Subhaigo Mochahary (30), son of Herot basumatary, a resident of Dolapara village. One 7.65 mm pistol and two rounds ammunition were recovered from him. Further interrogation is on,” he said. An army official said that the apprehended cadre was active in areas along Kokrajhar and Chirang district border. “Till recently he was with a group of NDFB (S) cadres in Kokrajhar. He is a close aid of NDFB(S) cadres Khilikong, who died in an encounter in village Edenbari in Chirang, and Subhash, who was recently apprehended by Chirang police. In recent times he was working with newly- inducted cadres in Chirang and was providing administrative support and information about security forces apart from carrying out extortion for them,” the official said.
