NE Media Sports Festival begins

GUWAHATI, Feb 5: The IX Northeast Media Sports Festival kicked off with badminton and soccer events here today. The iugural function was held at the Nehru stadium which was attended by Rajib Prakash Baruah, the Director of Information and Public Relation, as chief guest, Anil Kapoor, a top official of Topcem Cement, as guest of honour along with former intertiol footballer Debashish Roy and few other dignitaries.

DDK and News 18 earned full points in the silver jubilee edition of the HN Barua Inter Media soccer tourment by winning their respective matches matches at the Nehru Stadium today. In the first game of the day DDK defeated BUKSS by a solitary goal while News 18 beat Niyamiya Barta by 2-0. 

In the Arobindo Buragohain Badminton Manipur Working Jourlists Union lifted the team title beating Assam Tribune 2-0 in the fil. Women’s singles title was clinched by Ri Devi of Manipur. In the fil she defeated Kirti Bajaj of G Plus by 2-0.
