Nepali literary body's foundation day in Udalguri

UDALGURI, Jan 6: The 43rd foundation day of Asom Nepali Xahitya Xabha (ANSS) was held at the Golmagaon High School premises with a day-long programme.

A literary programme was held to mark this celebration. Bishnu Sarmah Neupane, the president of ANSS Udalguri district committee, chaired the session and it was conducted by Lakshman Adhikari, the general secretary of Udalguri district ANSS. Tarapati Upadhyaya, acclaimed writer and academician, Bidyapati Dahal, Apar Hazarika,Jyots Barman, Devajit Sarmah, Madhu Patowari, Bipani Das, Indira Gautam, Mee Sanjel, Haribhakta Sarmah and others read out their write-ups during the session. Bidyapati Dahal recited Sanskrit verses from his book Sankardeva Mahakavyam. Baidyath Upadhyaya, the literary secretary of ANSS Udalguri district committee, reviewed the recited literary articles.Meanwhile, a training programme on Nepali poems and ghazal will be held at the Golmagaon High School premise on January 7 and January 8.
