New AGVB branches opened

LBARI, March 21: Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB)  opened its 404th branch at Bhotanta Saderi and its 405th branch at Niz Samuka village, Kharadhara Chowk under Pathsala subdivision on Friday. In this regard a meeting was held in the campus of the new branch at 11 am in Saderi and at 1:30 pm at Kharadhara. Shio Shankar Singh, chairman of the bank and Nripendra th Baishya, general mager of the bank attended both the programmes as chief guest and guest of honour while Bhaskar Manta, District Development Mager, BARD Barpeta, was the distinguished guest. Iugurating both branches, Shio Shankar Singh spoke about the role played by AGVB for uplift of poor farmers by sanctioning KCC loan, other loans, linkage of SHG fince. He also appealed to the people present in the meeting not to take any help from middlemen for any banking services. A total of 44,516 SB accounts have been opened by the bank in Barpeta District under MJDY. Bhaskar Manta, DDM BARD, praised AGVB for its role to linkage in SHG, dairy fince and agriculture fince. At the function, sanction letters were given to four farmers and four meritorious students of nearby schools by the chairman and general mager of AGVB.
