New committee of Cachar District Union of Working Jourlists formed

Silchar, April 7: The first fully fledged conference of Cachar District Union of Working Jourlists' was held at the meeting hall of District Sports Association, Silchar on Friday. The members present unimously decided to accept the resigtion of Gautom Talukdar, former general secretary of the ad hoc committee of the Union. The new committee members of Assam Union of Working Jourlists (AUWJ) comprise Pijush Kanti Das, president, Uttam Shee and Biswajit Seal, vice presidents, Bhaskar Shome, general secretary, Ratdeep Deb, assistant general secretaries, Rafiul Alom Laskar, treasurer, Dilip Kumar Singh, organizing secretary, Chinmoy th, office secretary, Uttam Sarkar, publicity secretary and Mohua Choudhury, Paplu Das, Abdus Subhan Laskar, itik Shill, Redwan Uddin Laskar, Ashim Dutta, Fayzur Laskar, Biplab Kanti Dey and Himangshu Dey, executive members.
 Resolutions were taken to increase the member strength of Cachar District Union of Working Jourlists' under the purview of the prescribed format of the membership form and constitutiol provision of AUWJ, to take necessary steps to implement and execute the recommendations of Majithia Wage Board award for the benefit of all working jourlists in Cachar district in the light of the verdict of the Supreme Court of India vide its order dated New Delhi, June 19, 2017 in the contempt petition (civil) No 411 of 2014 in the WPC No 246 of 2011, to demand formulation of a Jourlist Security Act and to amend the Working Jourlist and other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1955 for inclusion of the electronic media.
